Cheiloplasty is a minimally invasive outpatient surgery performed under local anesthesia. The surgery lasts from half an hour to an hour and the initial recovery is a week. The results of cheiloplasty are definitive. Reduction cheiloplasty – it is a less requested procedure that is usually requested by patients with very developed lips or those that have a disharmonious appearance with respect to the rest of the features of the face. What is lip surgery? It is an outpatient treatment and does not require hospitalization. In the first phase, the medical team will carry out a complete diagnosis, study your wishes and needs and the general state of your health. Photographs will be taken prior to treatment. Once all the documentation is completed, the informed consent signed and the aftercare explained, you will move on to the treatment phase. At the time of treatment, the area to be treated will be cleaned and disinfected. The doctor will mark the lines of intervention according to the diagnosis, the type of cheiloplasty and the patient's objectives. In the next step the anesthesia will be applied. Depending on the type of lip surgery, the intervention will proceed and in the case of reduction or correction, incisions will be made on the inside of the lip, removing the necessary product or tissue and subsequently applying the sutures. Once the therapy is finished, check-ups will be scheduled for the cures and the removal of the stitches, if necessary. It is also performed on those lips that can be aesthetically improved, since they have wrinkles, asymmetries or are usually extremely voluminous.
